Since 2014
The New Brunswick Insurance Professional Association (formerly Women’s Association) was founded in 2014 at a small gathering in downtown Fredericton. The purpose of the NBIPA is to bring all insurance professionals, brokers, claims handlers, underwriters, lawyers, engineers, adjusters, together into one networking group. Our purpose is to help those new to the industry meet mentors, as well as for our members to learn new techniques and ways of thought from each other! We strive to have networking events around all of New Brunswick; however are limited to virtual at present time! We are New Brunswick's local chapter of the Canadian Association of Insurance Women In 2019, our name changed to reflect a broader group of professionals, although men are and always were welcome!


KENNETH D. COWIE, P.ENG.
President | NBIPA
Kenneth is presently the President of the NBIPA and has been involved with NBIPA since 2018. A Forensic Engineer | Collision Reconstruction with CEP Forensic, Kenneth interacts daily with claims adjusters, lawyers, and insureds to reconstruct motor vehicle collisions and determine how they occured.

In his spare time you can likely find Kenneth cooking, or if its fishing season, somewhere on the Miramichi. Education is a passion of Kenneth's and he is currently working on a Masters of Engineering in Traffic & Transportation Engineering at the University of New Brunswick.

CHRISTINE C. DOUCET, CRM
Vice President & Education Chair | NBIPA
Christine is presently the Vice President of the NBIPA and has been involved with the association since 2019. The Education, Licensing & CIP Coordinator with the Insurance Institute of New Brunswick, Christine helps people in the P&C Insurance industry to develop and maintain their skills and knowledge by offering life-long learning opportunities in a variety of flexible formats. Her goal as a wife, mother, friend, and co-worker is to set great standards and aim for sincere happiness.

Christine est actuellement la vice-présidente de NBIPA et est impliqué dans l'association depuis 2019. Étant coordonnatrice en éducation, des programmes de formation de PAA à l'Institut d'Assurance du Nouveau-Brunswick, Christine aide les gens au secteur de l'assurance à développer et à maintenir leurs compétences et leurs connaissances en offrant des possibilités d'apprentissage flexibles. Hors travail son objectif en tant qu'épouse, mère, amie et collègue est d'établir des normes élevées et de viser un bonheur sincère.


DARRELL KEEZER BBA W.E.T.T. (HON'S)
Immediate Past President & Treasurer | NBIPA
Darrell began his insurance career in 1977 fresh out of University. Within his first 22 years of his career Darrell worked for the Big 6 Insurers and then in 2002 he joined Anderson McTague & Associates, where he currently is a Builders Risk and D&O Specialist. Darrell has been involved with the NBIPA and IINB, holding numerous positions within each. Darrell believes it to be important to become involved in and give back to the industry that has been good to him.

KATHERINE TONER, LLB
CAIW Convention 2024 Committee & Director | NBIPA
Katherine is a founding member of the NBIPA & a Partner with Stewart McKelvey in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Katherine works with a number of insurance companies, providing coverage opinions and defending claims in such areas as bodily injury, property, life and disability, surety bonds and commercial liability.

WANDA MITTON
Ways and Means Director | NBIPA
Wanda Mitton has over 27 years as Technical Sales. Management and Marketing/Business Development. She is working with First Onsite as Marketing/Business Development and covers New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. She has been active in NBIPA since its inception and looks for ways to give back to this organization. Presently she is active in NBIPA as a Committee Chair for the Ways and Means Committee. As a marketer for First Onsite, she reaches out to Insurance Key Personnel and Commercial Property Managers to address facility recovery when properties have been impacted by water damage, wind damage, fire damage, smoke damage, mold damage and odor damage.
Conventions attended: conventions in Montreal, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Halifax. Wanda believes in creating opportunities for education, connections and increase communications with those that she deals with.
BECCI TAYLOR, BBA, CAIB HONS
Marketing & Communications Director | NBIPA
Becci is currently working with the Insurance Brokers Association of New Brunswick as the Marketing and Professional Development Coordinator. Her role has been fluctuating over the last little bit however she is still involved in helping their students with their continuing education. Becci has been in the industry just under 5 years but working with the education sector for almost 15 years.
I’ve been a part of the NBIPA for a few years now, gaining experience from some amazing knowledgeable members and the board. I am a director on the board, and work closely with brokers, agents, and other areas of the industry involved.
I have never attended a CAIW convention before but have been integral in organizing the Atlantic Insurance Brokers Convention held every year.
For those that don’t know me, I love to bike and spend most of my waking time outdoors, when its not -30 degrees! I love meeting people, learning new skills, and growing the insurance industry!


KELSIE SHARPE
Social Media Chair | NBIPA
Kelsie was born and raised in Fredericton New Brunswick. With Progress Investigations since 2017, Kelsie currently manages their New Brunswick operation. Progress Investigations offers investigative services with offerings in Insurance, Work Place Investigations, Surveillance, and Cyber Research. Joining NBIPA in 2020, Kelsie has been actively engaging with our members on our social pages including Facebook and Linked In.
Jason Court, BBA, CIP
Membership Director | NBIPA
Jason joined the insurance industry after graduating from the University of New Brunswick in 2009. He has worked previously as an Analyst for a direct writer, as well as a Personal Line's Underwriter for a large Canadian Insurance company.
Jason is currently a commercial lines underwriter with Aviva Canada.

Jason has a passion for growing the insurance industry and for building relationships across different industry roles. Having obtained a CIP and Commercial Insurance Certificate from the Insurance Institute of Canada, he is now pursuing a CRM designation. Jason was the winner of the Insurance Company partner award in 2018 from the Insurance Brokers Association of New Brunswick, and the Underwriter of the Year from the Insurance Business Canada in 2019.

Outside of work, Jason also sits on the PRO Kids Saint John Advisory Board, enjoys single malts, and chasing golf balls around the golf course.
