Story
Since 2013
The New Brunswick Insurance Professionals Association (NBIPA) was founded in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 2013. A chartered association of the Canadian Association of Insurance Women (CAIW), we strive to provide our members and the insurance industry abroad with networking, education, and development opportunities. While we frequent Fredericton, Moncton, and Saint John, our goal is to include all of New Brunswick and so events in northern NB including Miramichi, Bathurst, and Edmundston are included.

Formerly the New Brunswick Insurance Women's Association, our name was officially changed in 2020 to represent all professionals whom frequent our events.
Our Executive Board
Jason Court, BBA, CIP
President | NBIPA
Jason joined the insurance industry after graduating from the University of New Brunswick in 2009. He has worked previously as an Analyst for a direct writer, as well as hvaing worked as a Personal Line's and Commercial Underwriter for large Canadian Insurance companies.
Jason is currently a business development Manager with Travelers.

Jason has a passion for growing the insurance industry and for building relationships across different industry roles. Having obtained a CIP and Commercial Insurance Certificate from the Insurance Institute of Canada, he is now pursuing a CRM designation. Jason was the winner of the Insurance Company partner award in 2018 from the Insurance Brokers Association of New Brunswick, and the Underwriter of the Year from the Insurance Business Canada in 2019.

Outside of work, Jason also sits on the PRO Kids Saint John Advisory Board, enjoys single malts, and chasing golf balls around the golf course.

VANESSA DUGUAY, CAIB
Vice President | NBIPA
Vanessa joined the NBIPA board in 2023 in the role of vice-president after having participated for numerous years with the IBANB Young Broker's network. Vanessa, an 8 year veteran of personal lines brokering recently became a New Brunswick Business Development Advisor with Promutuel Assurance.

TAMMY NICHOL, CPHR, CIP
Second Vice President | NBIPA
Tammy is a dual member of both the NBIPA and the NSIWA. She is a Chartered Insurance Professional and a Chartered Professional in Human Resources, having completed her Canadian Risk Management and specializations in Negotiation and Mediation. Bringing her dynamic experience and enthusiasm to the NBIPA board, Tammy is passionate in the growth of the insurance industry and of the NBIPA. An RSM Commercial Risk at Paul Davis Canada, Tammy interfaces with many areas of the insurance industry and can often be found attending events throughout the year.

MONIQUE LEBLANC, FCIP
Secretary | NBIPA
Monique has held many roles with the NBIPA and has been involved with the association since its inception. The New Brunswick Manager of the Insurance Institute, Monique has education and continued development near and dear to her heart. You can find Monique at various events around Atlantic Canada, and enjoys interfacing with all insurance professionals. Like all of our board, if you have any questions about this industry, Monique is someone you should contact!

DARRELL KEEZER BBA W.E.T.T. (HON'S)
Treasurer | NBIPA
Darrell began his insurance career in 1977 fresh out of University. Within his first 22 years of his career Darrell worked for the Big 6 Insurers and then in 2002 he joined Anderson McTague & Associates, where he currently is a Builders Risk and D&O Specialist. Darrell has been involved with the NBIPA and IINB, holding numerous positions within each. Darrell believes it to be important to become involved in and give back to the industry that has been good to him.

KENNETH D. COWIE, P.ENG.
Immediate Past President | NBIPA
Kenneth is presently the Immediate Past President of the NBIPA and has been involved with NBIPA since 2018. A Forensic Engineer with CEP Forensic, Kenneth interacts daily with claims adjusters, lawyers, and insureds to reconstruct motor vehicle collisions and determine how they occured.
​
In his spare time you can likely find Kenneth cooking, or if its fishing season, somewhere on the Miramichi. Education is a passion of Kenneth's and he is currently working on a Masters of Engineering in Traffic & Transportation Engineering at the University of New Brunswick.
